Merry Christmas from CaptDConsistency VS Intensity
December 24, 2025Food is part of celebration — and you should enjoy it! The key is mindful indulgence: balancing festive eating with movement and recovery so you don’t derail your health or fitness.
Mindful eating means paying full attention to the experience of food — taste, texture, satisfaction — without guilt or mindless overeating.
Tips for mindful indulgence:
- Prioritise portions: Fill your plate half with veg/salads/fruits, then add festive indulgences.
- Savour slowly: Eat without screens present, chew well, enjoy every flavour and take breaks in between bites!
- Plan balance: Pair richer meals with lighter ones (braai for lunch → salad for dinner).
- Stay hydrated: Thirst is often mistaken for hunger. Alternate water between drinks!
- Move after meals: Don’t give in to that sluggish post-meal feeling! Take a light walk or stretch – this aids digestion and stabilises energy and mood.
Bonus tip: Don’t skip meals to “save up” — it often backfires into overeating later on. Rather practice BALANCE and MINDFULNESS.
